Well... AMD is back at the top of the heap in a HUGE way for DAW users!   I am also thrilled that CGR is the first to test and bring a system on this platform to market specifically for DAW users!  (See our DAW systems)  I just finished preliminary testing on the new  AMD 12 core “Magny-Cours” processors in a Dual socket motherboard (24 cores!!!).   It is truly amazing!!!   For most DAW applications (including low latency performance, track count, and native plug-in count),

I was able to achieve results anywhere from 200% to 400% better than the closest 12 core Intel system!
I was able to do stuff with my writing, and recording templates that I have NEVER been able to do!   I am so happy about this… I think I am Giddy!   I have always been an AMD fan… especially since they are fellow Texans, but this is really, really a huge step!     Rock on AMD!!
